Volunteer groups can earn money at music festival

OKEECHOBEE — Spectrum Events has been selected to provide concession services for the Okeechobee Music and Arts Festival being held March 4-6 at Sunshine Grove, 12517 N.E. 91st Ave. in Okeechobee.

They will be selling beverages for the event including beer, soda, and water at the festival. Volunteers are sought to help. A commission of 30 cents per beverage sold at the location assigned to that group will be paid to the club or organization. The club or organization will also be able to keep 100 percent of all tips raised in their booth.

Spectrum Concessions works numerous events across the U.S. and Canada including golf tournaments, Cirque du Soleil and various music festivals. For all of the events they work, they use local organizations to staff the stands as a way for them to raise money. They use different kinds of groups including high school booster clubs, military groups, cheer teams and church organizations, etc. Groups that will be volunteering at this event will be allowed to camp. Also, if the groups car pool, there will be areas at the camp sites for them to park.
