Fair to include demolition derby

Special to the Lake Okeechobee News
Terrie Birkett, owner of J&S Fish Camp, donated the 2002 Honda Accord Raffle Car. Julius Mirabel, 12, helped her at the Okeechobee Christmas Parade stamp Christmas festivalgoers’ handprints on the camouflage paint job.

The Okeechobee County Fair Association will host the Demolition Derby on the last day of the fair, Sunday, March 17. Gates open at noon, and the Demolition Derby is at 2:30 p.m. Demolition Derby tickets are $10 per person, 5 years old and under free, sold separately from fair admission.

Win a chance to drive a 2002 Honda Accord, donated by J&S Fish Camp, in our $1,000 to Win Small Car Demolition Derby, sponsored by The Custom Truck Shop of Port St Lucie. This particular class is perfect for the first-time derby driver or anyone of any age looking to have fun!

The winner of this drawing will be chosen at random on March 3 at noon and will have a chance to test-drive it before the derby and have a one-on-one training with an experienced demolition derby driver.
