County Fire Rescue responds to mobile home fire

OKEECHOBEE — On Tuesday, Nov. 24, at 1409 hours, Okeechobee County Fire Rescue responded to a reported mobile home fire at 2727 U.S. 441 S.E., Four Acres Mobile Home Park.

The first unit to arrive found a 20-foot travel trailer with an attached porch fully involved in fire and a propane tank venting from the heat. Units began a defensive fire attack on the structure and had the fire under control in approximately 10 minutes.

A total of 10 firefighters responded to the scene. There were no civilian injuries, however, one firefighter received a minor injury, received treatment and was returned to duty.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Florida State Fire Marshal’s Office.
