Two-car crash claims woman’s life

OKEECHOBEE — A Palm Bay woman was pronounced dead at a local hospital Tuesday morning following her involvement in a two-car crash on S.R. 70 East at S.E. 128th Avenue.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) press release, 51-year-old Sarah Nieves was taken June 28 to Raulerson Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The driver of the second vehicle — Adam S. Lambeth, 22, Vero Beach — came away from the 6 a.m. crash with minor injuries.

Ms. Nieves was northbound on S.E. 128th Avenue in her 2004 Jeep Cherokee when she approached that street’s intersection with S.R. 70. Mr. Lambeth, continued the release, was westbound on S.R. 70 in his 2014 F-150 pickup.

“Driver #1 entered the intersection through the stop sign and the front of vehicle #1 collided into the driver side of vehicle #2,” stated the release.

Ms. Nieves apparently was not wearing her seat belt. Mr. Lambeth was wearing his seat belt, pointed out the release.

The FHP investigation into the crash is continuing.
